A festival entirely dedicated to a product of the land: the pepper. The event takes place in Acquarica di Lecce, municipality of Vernole. It offers the vegetable cooked in different recipes, with tomato sauce (“alla pizzaiola”) or filled with rice and meat. It keeps alive in the memory the time in which almost all the countryside surrounding the village was cultivated with this crop.
