Two very peculiar stacks, called “the two sisters” can be admired from the beach of Torre dell’Orso, municipality of Melendugno. The legend says that two beautiful sisters, who have never saw the sea, were living in Melendugno.

La sorella maggiore, allora, si tuffò in mare nel disperato tentativo di salvarla, ma neppure lei fu in grado di nuotare. Un '''pescatore''' udì le grida delle giovinette e, accorso nel punto in cui sembravano provenire, si trovò davanti all’inatteso spettacolo di '''due imponenti faraglioni''' che mai aveva visto prima: da allora, quelle rocce sono dette “le due Sorelle”.
