Fair of Santa Lucia

The fair of Santa Lucia is the most ancient tradition for the Christmas time in Lecce. An exhibition of the most traditional art produced for the nativity scene, from the best handcrafters of the city.

The location of the fair is the magical cloister of Teatini in Corso Vittorio Emanuele. In the exposition there are the finest handcrafts of “cartapesta” and “terracotta”. Visitors, both tourists and locals, walk around the fair to buy, or just to admire, the “pupi”, handmade characters for the nativity scene.

Beside these traditional characters, innovative handcrafts are presented, such as Christmas decorations and small souvenirs.
