Festa della Madonna di San Fili

In Monteroni, to celebrate the devotion to the Vergin, two days of rituals are dedicated to the Madonna di San Fili.

The rituals, both religious and civil, start the Monday after Easter, with the traditional fair, where every kind of goods is offered along with tasting of dishes from the traditional cuisine.

A big market welcomes the visitors in the morning but many other events take place during the day. The most interesting event of the day is “albero della cuccagna”, a tall and slippery pole, with some prizes (usually sweets) on top. People challenge each other to get to the top and win the prises over the other players.
