Politeama Greco theatre is the biggest in the city and in Salento, offering a rich programme to its audience. Plays, concerts, ballet and opera make Politeama one of the crucial locations of the cultural life in the city.

The theatre was built in the end of XIX from Donato Greco, from who it takes the name. The elegant foyer welcomes the audience inside, surrounded from small sofas, diverse decorations and ornamental mirrors. The main room is framed form the lines of daises, semicircle in front of the stage, where performed artists from all over the world.

Politeama Greco theatre marks the border between the new part of the city and the historical centre. It is placed in Via XXV Luglio, in proximity of Carlo V castle and Via Trinchese, surrounded by shops and cafes for every taste, which can be visited before entering the show.
