Saint Rocco is honoured from the town of Squinzano during August. The celebrations, both religious and civil, are organised from the church Mater Domini, where it takes place the spiritual preparation before the celebration.
On 21st August, Saint day’s eve, the peak of the celebration is the procession, which takes the statue of the Saint through the town. On 22nd August, the music of the marching band can be heard from the morning. During the evening a live concert takes place in Sant’Anna square.
Durante i festeggiamenti per il santo, a Squinzano si svolge anche la Sagra di San Rocco, con numerosi stand gastronomici per degustare le specialità della cucina del Salento.
