Maggio Salentino is organised from the association Calestass, in collaboration with the Municipality of Lecce to allow art enjoyment on the principle of welcoming, a very important concept in the area.
The most beautiful private houses are open for this initiative, to welcome tourist groups. In these houses, the groups will experience the traditions of the area, through explanations of locals, and they will taste the homemade food prepared for them.
Nell’ambito del Maggio Salentino si svolge anche il concorso delle Xenialedi, che premia la migliore accoglienza da parte delle famiglie ospitanti, basandosi sulle valutazioni degli stessi turisti.
