Festa di San Nicola di Myra

The Patron Saint Nicola di Myra, protector of children and young women ready for wedding, has a particular importance to the town of Squinzano. The Patron Saint is honoured in December, with civil and religious rituals.

The opening of the celebrations is “sagra della pittula”, an event where the delicious traditional dish (fried dough filled with veggies) is offered, in many different recipes, at the gastronomic stalls. On 6th December, the Saint day, the services take place since early morning and during the day is opened the San Nicola fair.

A fireworks show announces the start of the religious procession and, during the evening, a live concert is hosted on the main square.
