The ritual dedicated to the Virgin of Bread has very ancient origins. The celebration takes place in Novoli, the third Sunday of July, to remind the devotees about a miracle happened 300 years ago.
In 1707, the legend says, that the Virgin saved the town from an epidemic disease. The festival includes cultural events, concerts and theatre plays. It is organised from Comitato Feste, in collaboration with the municipality of Novoli and Pro Loco Novoli.
The peak of the celebrations is the procession, which crosses the town to bless its citizens, accompanied from the music of the marching band.
