“Taraddhu cu lu pipe” (a salty pastry with pepper) is a traditional recipe from Villa Convento, municipality of Novoli. It is a bakery product, done with flower. It is very simple but very tasty and it comes from the rural culture.
“Taraddhu cu lu pipe” has a quite big dimension. In the past was realised with the left overs from bread preparation, simply adding some pepper. The dough was then worked into lines, which were closed to shape the “taraddhu”.
In Villa Convento, a festival is dedicated to “taraddhu cu lu pipe”, in which this traditional recipe can be tasted with other dishes of the local cuisine.
