The ring game was very common when cars where still a luxury and the streets were empty, becoming a perfect playing field for children.

Almost all the children had a ring that was often obtained through recycled materials, as bikes’ wheels. The game is simple but it requires a bit of ability. The aim was to make the ring rolling, steering it with a metal stick of “U” shape. The stick was used softly to touch the moving ring to define its inclination and direction.

The “ring race” was made through the streets in the historical centre of the city or in the near countryside, choosing an area where the soil was flat and without any obstacle.
