The chapel was built in the 16th century and it is located about one kilometre outside the town, towards Casalabate. The legend says that this place used to be called “the mountain of the battle”, since it is here that took place the fight between Spanish and French soldiers.
Nel 1990, durante i lavori di restauro, fu rinvenuto un affresco di fine ‘500 raffigurante la Vergine di Loreto, protagonista della festa religiosa celebrata a Squinzano.
