The inauguration of the academic year is an important meeting moment for professors, employees and students. The university celebrated 60 years from the foundation in 2015.
The event takes place at Ecotekne, a university department right outside the city, towards Monteroni. The dean of the university invites all students, professors, employees and researchers from the six departments.
Several events take place in this day. Among them, a remarkable one is the lectio magistralis, held each year from a chosen person, known worldwide. Moreover, collateral events are spread in the city, such as exhibitions and concerts.

Un’occasione per confrontarsi e progettare il futuro, ma anche una grande festa.
L’apertura del nuovo anno accademico rappresenta un importante momento di incontro per i docenti, il personale tecnico e gli studenti dell’Università del Salento, che nel 2015 ha celebrato 60 anni di attività.
Nel centro congressi del complesso Ecotekne, a pochi chilometri da Lecce sulla via per Monteroni, il magnifico Rettore chiama a raccolta i professori delle sei facoltà, con ricercatori, dottorandi, impiegati amministrativi e tutti gli iscritti ai corsi dell’ateneo.
Il programma della giornata prevede diversi interventi tra cui la lectio magistralis di uno studioso di calibro internazionale, ma anche dibattiti ed eventi collaterali, come mostre e concerti.
