È uno degli eventi gastronomici più attesi dell’estate salentina, la Sagra de lu purpu di Melendugno. Il polpo cucinato in mille modi è protagonista assoluto dei giorni di festa e degustazioni, durante i quali si possono assaggiare diverse specialità della cucina tradizionale ma anche piatti originali.
Il gusto è sovrano della Sagra de lu purpu, con gli stand gastronomici che propongono polpette di polpo, polpo fritto, polpo cucinato alla pignatta e via dicendo. Sono tante anche le proposte per i vegetariani e per chi ama la carne, dalle “pittule”, gustose frittelle tipiche, alle bruschette di pane col pomodoro, dagli arrosti di carne ai “pezzetti” di cavallo al sugo.
Ad animare le serate c’è anche tanta musica dal vivo e sul palco le sonorità della tradizione salentina si alternano con artisti di fama nazionale.
