Nel periodo natalizio Lizzanello accoglie la Betlemme del Salento con il Presepe vivente allestito nella Masseria Sant’Alieni.
Sempre più numerosi, nel piccolo comune poco distante da Lecce i visitatori passeggiano tra le botteghe in cui rivivono i mestieri di una volta. Dal fornaio al falegname, dalla tessitrice al fabbro, si segue un percorso affascinante che culmina nell’antico frantoio ipogeo della masseria.
Qui, tra le macine secolari, la Sacra Famiglia si stringe intorno a Gesù Bambino aspettando l’arrivo dei Re Magi il 6 gennaio. Se fa freddo, ci si scalda gustando “pittule” appena fritte, caratteristiche palline di pasta lievitata tipiche della cucina salentina.
