Quasi tutti i bambini possedevano un cerchio, che spesso era ricavato da '''cerchioni di bicicletta''' o altri materiali di recupero. Un gioco semplice ma molto divertente, che richiedeva '''abilità e velocità'''. Lo scopo era infatti quello di far correre il cerchio guidandolo con un’asta di metallo a forma di “U”. Quest’ultima, detta “'''maniglia'''”, sfiorava la circonferenza in movimento correggendone la direzione e l’inclinazione.

The aim was to make the ring rolling, steering it with a metal stick of “U” shape. The stick was used softly to touch the moving ring to define its inclination and direction.

The ring game was very common when cars where still a luxury and the streets were empty, becoming a perfect playing field for children.

Almost all the children had a ring that was often obtained through recycled materials, as bikes’ wheels. The game is simple but it requires a bit of ability. The aim was to make the ring rolling, steering it with a metal stick of “U” shape. The stick was used softly to touch the moving ring to define its inclination and direction.

I bambini si sfidavano facendo correre i loro cerchi tra le vie del centro storico di Lecce o in aperta campagna, scegliendo tratti privi di ostacoli come sassi e dislivelli.
