Uno dei più preziosi doni della terra è protagonista di una golosa '''festa''' a Merine, frazione di Lizzanello. Durante il periodo estivo, la Sagra de lu ranu (Sagra del grano) trasforma il piccolo centro abitato di Merine in un paese in festa.

Il '''grano''' è l’ingrediente sovrano delle tante ricette che si possono gustare nei diversi stand gastronomici. Focacce e '''pasta fatta in casa''', grano condito con sugo di pomodoro e “pittule”, le gustose frittelle di pasta lievitata tipiche della cucina del Salento.
