Si ispira al '''primo presepe''' della storia, il Presepe vivente di Monteroni, che riproduce idealmente quello realizzato a Greccio da '''San Francesco d’Assisi''' nel 1223.

Il presepe di Monteroni di Lecce è allestito nella location d’eccezione dell’antico Palazzo Ducale, in piazza Falconieri. Per evocare la rappresentazione della nascita di Gesù ideata da San Francesco, si possono ammirare ricostruzioni di alcuni momenti importanti della vita di '''Santa Chiara'''.

I visitatori del Presepe vivente di Monteroni passeggiano, dunque, tra ambientazioni tipiche della '''vita contadina''' del Salento di una volta e scene che vedono protagonista Santa Chiara, come il momento della decisione di seguire San Francesco e la cerimonia con cui prese i voti.
