Sant’Antonio da Padova è il patrono di Borgagne. Per rendergli omaggio, i fedeli della piccola frazione di Melendugno organizzano ogni anno una sentita festa a fine estate.

Il 29 e il 30 agosto il paese si prepara alla '''festa patronale''' con addobbi, luminarie e spettacoli pirotecnici. Le celebrazioni religiose si affiancano agli eventi civili, a memoria del '''miracolo''' grazie al quale Sant’Antonio da Padova divenne patrono di Borgagne.

Si narra che una '''statua del santo''' abbandonata in campagna giunse a Borgagne trasportata da un corso d’acqua formatosi per prodigio. Da allora, i cittadini adorarono Sant’Antonio da Padova quale loro patrono.
